The building was built in 1958 by architect John Dinwiddie. Dinwiddie was the dean of the School of Architecture from 1953-1959 and a cousin of the president for whom Dinwiddie Hall was named. The nursery school was an exercise in using economical building materials and designing spaces scaled to small people.
This building houses the preschool program for students of the community, as well as Tulane staff. The program includes planned activities for growth, quality meals, and high quality childcare at an affordable price.
