Completed in 2023 by local firm Eskew Dumez Ripple, River and Lake Hall boasts a multi-layered layout aimed at fostering a strong sense of belonging among second-year students while accommodating the evolving campus identities. The project is ingeniously organized around two adjacent wings, interconnected via a raised courtyard space on the second floor. Each wing functions as a separate residence hall, housing multiple communities of 20 to 30 residents, each with its own distinct identity. However, the shared courtyard serves as a central gathering point for socialization and recreation for all four communities within River and Lake Hall. Departing from the conventional approach of dispersing smaller student lounges across floors, each wing features several large, double-height lounges, promoting interaction and connectivity among residents.
