Myra Clare Rogers Memorial Chapel was built in 1975 and designed by Desmond, Miremont, Burks architects. While Rogers' original master plan placed a dorm here, this small chapel is an interesting composition of Newcomb's brick and tile vocabulary. Recalling the earlier Newcomb Chapel in the Garden District, Tiffany windows are incorporated. The window depicts the initials of Sophie Newcomb's daughter, "HSN." The small, yet airy worship space contains a small baroque pipe organ by Schantz organ builders.
Originally constructed for non-denominational prayer, programs today include not only religious services, but also lectures, musical performances, and the Sophie Newcomb Memorial Service, that happens every December.
