Joseph Merrick Jones Hall is home to the School of Liberal Arts, Classical Studies, the Hogan Jazz Archive, the Louisiana Research Collection, the Southeastern Architectural Archive, the Stone Center for Latin American Studies, and the Tulane Archives, and Tulane Special Collections.
Jones was built in 1941 and designed by Moise Goldstein architects. Jones Hall was the original Howard-Tilton Memorial Library. When the current library opened across the street in 1969, Jones Hall became Tulane's law school. It was converted from the University library to law school in 1971, by Harold Pique. The Law School moved out in late 1994.
