Hamman Hall
Designed by the Houston-based architectural firm George Pierce and Abel B. Pierce and named in honor of George Hamman, Hamman Hall features a 475-seat proscenium-style auditorium. Built in 1958, it was the first building dedicated to performance arts programs at Rice. Today, it houses the Rice Theatre Program, an academic minor in the School of Humanities and Arts. It also is home to the Rice Players, Houston’s oldest student-run theatre company, which brings plays and musicals to the Rice campus and greater Houston community.
